Needless to say much of what you have just said in respect of Africans individuals as well as those in positions of authority, power, influence and resources “Sleep walking” (so to say) all this while and not putting in the needed effort to setup infrastructure or digital tools that can aid many of the ailments facing us as a people is accurate.

However, the story is not always as simple as there are a few people who for the past decade or more have been aiming and tyring to do exactly what you have highlighted that needed to be done and we are one of those (and we know a few others) but the challenge is not merely as simple as it appears as sometimes when you build it you have to  also ask HOW do your OWN people perceive it as their is a groomed MINDSET challenge that lingers deep in the background.

For instance let me give you a clear real world example:

About 8 years ago just as we were about starting to build the same infrastructure on a small scale that you have highlighted is needed (more on this part another time) someone I knew who realised I was also making 3D games at the time somewhat “surprised” and thrilled by what he saw enthusiastically would go about calling the attention of other fellow Africans he knew and asking me to show case what I was doing to them as a means of excitedly showing to his friends that WE are able to do similar things to. BUT: imagine WHAT we both got “faced” with when he would do this.

Let me explain: Imagine 6 times out of 10 being faced with a three way video conference where you are being introduced and EVEN BEFORE you are given the chance to demo your game the viewer starts BAD mouthing and trashing your game trying to tell you that he/she are avid gamers and they play only AAA games  mentioning Fortnight, Diablo, Legend of Zelda blah blah (all games made by teams consisting of hundreds of individuals and not by solo developers..

Now put yourself in the shoes of a) the friend trying to present what he saw me doings, even here with such ferocious barrage of vitriol that person can easily fall back into “doubt” mode without even understanding why he has gone into that induced mode. Then now put yourself in b) My position as if I was not a strong individual I would probably have crumbled and NEVER shown my game to anyone else.

BUT: Then lets move on and find out what then finally HAPPENED when these same people finally SAW the game in question (called “African Fight Night”). Simple: “SILENCE” and EYES WIDE OPEN.

Now to add insult to injury even after the sudden dead silence these same people could not even have the decency to apologize for their stupidity and PRESUPPOSED judgement.

WHAT I am trying to point out to you here is that even when many of us TRY it is OUR OWN KIND who do the real damage to the psychic and help reinforce the “Helplessness” that a group/race of people have set-out for centuries to ensure consistently takes place amongst us African originated peoples globally.

You see you “WE” (and something I have for decades pointed out in writings and discussions) as a people do not only have the so self-labelled “WhiteMan” to deal with in FRONT of us, but on the LEFT side we also have the ASIANS, and on the RIGHT side the ARABS and as if that was not bad enough BEHIND us insidiously we have our OWN KIND all working to maintain the control plane of SERVITUDE and SUBJUGATION and DEHUMANIZATION.

But anyway, lets skip the negatives and let me leave you on a positive note:

YES! by Thinking-Outside-The-Box (while still keeping a vigil on the “box”) a digital infrastructure  with a distributed security construct has been put together (albeit on a small scale) and for 7 years has been tested and tried (as even though one comes from an ICT background these things are not easy and need testing and time especially when resources and funds are limited) and coincidentally is about to be provided to those who see the use of it (as not everyone will see the use of it) but it is being done in such a way that it caters for both Africa mainland and the Diaspora given the numerous limitations like you rightly mentioned facing places like Africa that you mentioned in your video on “African Stream Banned By Youtube….”

Although this is not about me the person, but I guess you would prefer to have some indication as to who I am and what I do  (for this you can simply click the top menu link that says “About Us” when on the website) so you can use the link below to see one of the things I do (ICT training) and also get a feel for my professional backdrop.

If on the other hand you are also interested in the things you have mentioned in your own video that I have just seen from you then do feel free to send me an email with a time and date of your choosing. Do not worry both email and video conference tools are owned by us using open source code so they are as private as you can get and constantly maintained for security even though nothing is infallible.

Then, when in a conference I can show you what some “less public” focused African originated people are doing to address this conundrum that we know all too well to be a reality as some of us are not sleep walking.

Anyway, let me sign off here till I next hear from you
